MAL GUSTO es un colectivo de arte que comenzó por aquellas “pequeñas” inquietudes plásticas en torno a lo cotidiano. Y no sólo plásticas, sino también intelectuales. La idea primordial de MAL GUSTO es; usando todo aquello que nos interesa, que sabemos, que no sabemos también, que admiramos, que nos apasiona y que perseguimos, darle un sentido estético a un todo a partir de la parte.
Pero no todo queda ahí, en MAL GUSTO hay una gran curiosidad plástica, de investigación, de ideas que dan vueltas y que quieren ser llevadas a cabo, de realizar un trabajo grupal (en el cual son tres los integrantes), donde podamos mostrar nuestro trabajo plástico de años, aquí se mezclan la pintura, el dibujo y la fotografía. Los tres integrantes de MAL GUSTO trabajamos en torno al mismo tema: lo cotidiano. Pero lo cotidiano es personal e intransferible aunque al parecer sea algo mundial y casi mecánico. Es por eso que, a través de la mirada que cada uno de nosotros tiene de lo cotidiano, de SU cotidiano, trabajamos aquellas situaciones que están siempre ahí, pero todo basado en la figura humana.
A la manera de Baudelaire o al modo de MAL GUSTO, pretendemos ponerle atención a las grietas, a lo que se niega y existe.
La estrategia de MAL GUSTO es la seducción por la forma y el fondo, la perspicacia y la duda. Es la ley de lo obsceno puesta en juego, pues nos comienza a seducir por la insinuación, mediante soportes y texturas, talentos e incapacidades. El placer enfrentado al tiempo, que es nuestro único y gran enemigo.
La pequeña sabiduría del MAL GUSTO consiste en despojarse de consignas y normas, la simpleza y el oficio, la cita y la historia, las ideologías y los amores (aunque eso sea lo único que se tenga).
El MAL GUSTO persigue a los narcos y amorales, bebedores de café, eufóricos y laboriosos, monstruosos y perfectos, ambiguos y exactos.
Somos honestos en la creencia de que todo esto es estúpido y que las únicas respuestas radican en su densidad paranoica, puesta en juego en estas imágenes que permiten olfatear nuestra fragilidad.
